Patient Testimonials
Brent SchumannFebruary 17, 2024 I had a great experience with Andy at Canyons Sports Therapy. Had sciatic pain due to some problems with piriformis and weakness in my core and glutes. They worked me out hard, I got stronger, and the pain went away! All the staff were extremely friendly and encouraging. And, they gave me clear exercises to do at home. I still hate clamshells, but they sure help me! Highly recommend Canyons! Ray AndersonFebruary 13, 2024 As a 75-year “young” lifelong skier, I was worried that a meniscectomy in October, plus a hamstring injury, would ruin my 2023/24 ski season. My next door neighbor (Marv Neuman) and several other “senior skiers” recommended that I do PT with Danny at Canyon Sports. Rehab of the meniscectomy progressed rapidly due to “high tech” tools (ultrasound, etc), guided strengthening, balance exercises and hard work. The hamstring tear and tendonopathy took a bit longer to eliminate pain and regain functionality. What really worked wonders for me was a technique recommended by Danny called “dry needling.” I was a bit skeptical of plunging a series of 4” needles into the midsection and pelvic ligature of my left hamstring, but I noticed a distinct improvement after the first treatment. After three needling sessions, I was a firm believer in the technique. The bottom line is that I was skiing and playing Pickleball again (albeit cautiously) by mid-December. As of today (2/13/24), I’ve graduated from the Canyon Sport PT Program, but are will continue the recommended stretching and strengthening program at home long into the future. In summary, Canyon Sports PT is a “worldclass” facility with a proven track record of successful sports injury rehabilitation. It is a clean, sanitary, well-equipped facility with an experienced,,credentialed, highly qualified, professional PT staff. The entire Canyon Sports team is courteous, kind, personable, compassionate and just plain fun. If a sports injury requires torture, serious PT and hard work, this is an ideal choice for treatment. Although I loved Danny as my PT, would gladly work with any of the Canyon Sports therapists just to be accepted as a Canyon Sports patient. Nick SmartFebruary 12, 2024 Everyone at Canyon Sports is a pleasure to work with. Danny takes the time to listen and work with the patient and set up a plan of action. It was a long road to rehabilitate my back post discectomy but I don't believe I would be where I am today (nerve pain free) without the team at Canyon Sports. She did an excellent job of progressing me at just the right pace. She explained the necessary exercises so well and always made sure I was doing them correctly. She was always positive, encouraging and empathic. She made the entire time together so worthwhile. I’d also like to mention that the staff worked very well together and were part of a very cooperative environment. Well done everyone at Canyon Sports. Bronco TrailJanuary 5, 2024 Tessa is such a great physical therapist! I had a muscle strain that she was able to help me resolve. She performed a very thorough analysis of my stability, strength, and flexibility and gave me a comprehensive routine to perform with the exact numbers of sets and reps, and also showed me how to do each exercise properly. I highly recommend this place. Marla WallJanuary 4, 2024 I felt that Tessa knew exactly how to help me with my arm/shoulder issue! I experienced progress with her exercises and expertise. She was very good at focusing on the problem. I also enjoyed her friendly personality. Others who helped, such as Ellie and Townsend, made me feel at ease as well. My past experiences there have been very favorable. Thanks to all of you at Canyon Sports for your help! Christopher BrahmJanuary 4, 2024 I returned to CST when I was encouraged to come back for a 6-month post-discharge follow-up. I am so glad I did. I was originally seen by Tessa for shoulder/neck pain and discharged after a few months of regular sessions. I generally was feeling good and pain free when I came back for my 6-month check-in. This check-in (much like my last appointment) was focused on whole-body health. Tessa had me go through a series of different mobility exercises to see how I was moving. After the assessment, we discussed a few areas of need, and Tessa gave me some suggested exercises to target those areas. Then we discussed that while those exercises would help me improve in a few areas, generally things were looking good and it didn't suggest a need for any regular PT appointments at this time. After a few weeks of implementing those exercises, I am seeing how they have made a positive impact on my movement. As an avid skier and climber, this has made me confident that my body is healthy and ready to be challenged! I highly recommend a follow-up after you've been discharged for several months, to gain some additional knowledge and confidence in a healthy body!
